Unplugged Card Coding

What is the Card Coding?

– The Card Coding can program using the command card.

– You can use each command card to find a destination or enjoy a variety of activities.

(1) Switch the power slide to the ON position. (The state that the head light changes to rainbow color continuously)

(2) Wait until you hear a beep.

(3) Press and hold the light button for more than 3 seconds. The head light turns red with a “chi-chi-chi” sound.

– When you release, the head light turns white and waits for card input.

– Enter the command by sliding the color-coded card from the direction of the color strip to the bottom of the Turtle robot head.

* Please push the card carefully.

– When card input is recognized, the card color lights up with a “beep” sound.

(4) After inputting the cards in order, click the button once to execute the entered commands.

Be sure to place the card on the floor and slide it under the robot head.

(Please note the card orientation)

※ Please put the card from the color strip.

2.1 How to Enter and Run a Program

(1) With the card always on the floor, slide it under the Turtle head.

(2) When the card input is recognized, the light turns on with the each command card color with a beep sound.

(3) The card will turn white again when the card is taken out. (White light indicates the input status).

Up to 32 card coding commands are possible.

(If you input more than 33 times, you will be alerted by sirens and red lights.)

(4) When input is completed, click button once to execute.

(5) The robot operates in the order of input command.

(6) When execution is completed, it returns to input standby state (white) again.

※ If you click once during execution, the operation stops and you return to the input standby state (white) immediately.

2.2 How to re-enter after deleting a program

(1) Press the button for more than 3 seconds to delete the coded program.

(2) When the head light color turns red and you hear a “chi-chi-chi” sound, the deletion is completed.

2.3 How to Enter and Run Function Codes (How to Enter and Run Function Call Codes)

(1) To enter the function code, click the button twice.

(2) When turned on dark white with a “beep” sound, it is ready for input.

※ At this time, all existing function codes are deleted.

(3) Slide the card down the head.

(4) When the card input is recognized, the light turns on with the each command card color with a beep sound.

(5) When the card is out, it turns back to dark white.

※ Function coding command is available up to 16 times.

(If you input more than 17 times, it will sound with siren sound and red light.)

(6) When the function code input is completed, click the button once.

(7) Save the code and return to the program input mode. (Lights up in bright white)

(8) The function codes saved in the separate memory are called by the “Function Call” card.

2.4 Cautions when programming a function

– If you enter only a new function code and run the program again, the behavior changes to the modified function code.

– Initially, the function code is pre-programmed with “Turn Left”, “Turn Left” and “Move Forward”.

That is, run 90 degrees left twice and go straight once. (turn around and move 12cm forward)

– If you use the “Function Call” card at the end of the function code, the function call will repeat indefinitely.

– Repeat cards cannot be used in function code.

– The coded function code is cleared when the turtle is turned off and returns to the initial function code (turn left, turn left, move forward).

2.5 How to use “Repeat Card” -24 type Additional Cards

– There are 8 type Repeat cards (Repeat until green, red and blue, Repeat 2, 3 and 4 times and Repeat forever and End Repeat).

– Repeat Card allows you to repeat the actions of the card you entered.

End Repeat card must be entered at the end of the action.

Ex) Repeat 3 times – Blue LED On-LED Off – EndRepeat : Repeat the blue light turn on and off 3 times.

– If you enter a different code after the ‘End Repeat’ card, the other code runs after the repeat code runs out.

Ex) Repeat 2 times – Green LED On – LED Off – End repeat – Red LED On

: Repeat the green LED turns on and off twice, and then it turns red.

– In case of Repeat until a specific color, the specific color is recognized after the previous operation is completed.

Ex) Repeat Until Red – Move forward – End Repeat

3. Caution on the Card Coding

– Insert from the direction of card strip.

– Do not insert the card in too quickly.

– If the image is not recognized correctly, calibrate the white color balance in the correct way.

– If the card is left in the sun for a long time, it may discolor.

– If there is strong light or direct sunlight in the surroundings, the color sensor may be affected and not recognized.

4.Card is not recognized (Color Sensor White Balance)

The Color Sensor White Balance Function

(The state that the head light changes to rainbow color continuously)

(2) Wait until you hear a beep.

(3) Place the Turtle Robot on the white paper to be calibrated.

(4) Double click the button.
